As stated in the introduction to Beyond A Border, Moving Across Border by Peter Kivisto, “they move because they are prevented from practicing their religious beliefs or because their political views and social issues put them at risk” ( Kivisto 2 ). Therefore, this political and religious conflict is the main hectic and dangerous reason why Muna and Fadi take the first step to move to the United States for a safer lifestyle. This motive can also be defined academically as a political and religious push factor for migration. Some factors that could push people out of point A are “rapid population growth, poverty, lack of economic opportunities, and political repression” (Kivisto and Faist 35), as stated in Beyond A Border, Immigration Flows. The pull factors that push people to point B are “job opportunities, higher wages than at home, the possibility of acquiring land, and political and cultural freedom” ( Kivisto and Faist 35 ). These factors make Muna, Fadi, and other immigrants “people by nature wandering rather than moving” (Kivisto and Faist 36). Hence the main factors pushing Muna and Fadi out of the Palestinian West
