The answer is that there is nowhere else to look to prepare for the future. History is not a series of random acts but events triggered by human behavior (businesses and government). The family events of the 1960s had a series of cause and effect sequences that could repeat themselves. The ideas of the late 19th and early 20th centuries developed among individuals and small groups. After the upheavals of the Great Depression and World War II, all that was needed was for businesses to undermine the family order and for the federal government to abandon the Constitution. The world didn't end. Close and loving families are still with us, as are families with unbearable problems. What I have learned is that God has set us free and we, through the pages of history, still don't know how to handle it
