ObamaCare Research Paper Americans today need affordable universal health insurance from the American government. Can the government provide what the people need? First of all, many Americans owe money to the government because they cannot afford their drugs. Secondly, is Obama really worth caring about? Additionally, the U.S. medical system doesn't work for most people who take drugs. The United States spends more on health care than any other country. Half of Americans are uninsured by the government. Over half of the American population doesn't have insurance, and even if they do get it, they still pay a lot of money for drugs. First of all, what is Medicare? Medicare is federal health insurance for both older adults and younger people who need cheaper medications, and for people with disabilities. According to Robert Preidt's article on Medicare, he states that "At least one in four Medicare patients received at least one of these services in 2009, according to analysis of claims made by more than 1.3 million Medicare patients that year." year". His analysis tells us that a few Americans get their insurance and most of them still pay a lot even if they have government-provided insurance, for example Isadore Cassuto, an 88-year-old man and a retired tax lawyer , broke his pelvis on Nov. 12 in a parking lot and spent over 3 weeks in rehab hospital. He was stuck with a 6,000 bill for his follow-up care because Medicare, the federal health plan for people over 65, only pays for inpatient rehabilitation after a serious hospitalization, this analysis tells us that even a retiree insured that he has the right to pay less on the bill, he didn't understand it but instead he paid more. Karen Rowan states…half of the document…it will be a success and will fix the US healthcare system. Imagine that people who are in debt right now wouldn't actually be in debt if the government had a better plan to improve the system. In my opinion, if only the government wasn't corrupting the entire medical system, people would be so involved in their lives right now. Bibliography1. Lipson, Peter.
