Topic > Why education is important for the development of a country

God has endowed us with so many natural resources, but due to lack of knowledge many people waste them unnecessarily. The waste of these resources translates into a shortage of resources for the present as well as for the future and for the growth of a country. As these natural resources are the main sources to increase the income of a country. If people are educated, they can use these resources in a positive way. Education also helps single mothers find jobs and raise their children better. They will be aware of many programs that can be useful in educating their children. A mother can take care of her children from many unresolved diseases, for example, AIDS. A child born to a mother who can read has a 50% greater chance of surviving beyond five years. Furthermore, in Africa UNESCO conducted a survey according to which the lives of 1.8 million children could have been saved if their mothers had had secondary education. (Duncan, A., United States Secretary of Education). Education realizes the potential and talent of human being. They know how to use their time to be more productive in their work. Furthermore, if the families of the country are educated there will be progress in the economy of a country. Uneducated families often fall into poverty and illiteracy, which hinders the growth of a country's developers. Illiterate people lack information and skills and consequently cannot meet the need for skilled work. So, in their lives, they continue to struggle for good jobs and poverty. Therefore, it is very essential to get highly qualified education. Also, people may be more aware of family planning, better health and many other things. It is said that “education makes a man complete”. (Kautilya, an Indian philosopher). He explained the importance of education, about 2000 years ago.
