A healthcare management professional can determine the level of their education, unlike a medical career. Cons: In small communities there aren't many jobs for a healthcare management position, so graduates in the field may have to move to larger cities like Boston, New York, Chicago to find a job. Healthcare management professionals who work in lower-level positions may have limited or no education, so they must go to college to advance or stay in the same position their entire lives. Most entry level positions in healthcare management pay less than $30,000 per year. Although there are some disadvantages to a career in healthcare management, I still think professionals overcome them. Working in the healthcare management field is very rewarding even though the job market in small towns and rural areas is a bit limited. I think the implementation of the electronic health record system in the United States will definitely bring more jobs to underserved areas. Working in a similar field, I appreciate the flexibility the job offers me. If I worked in a different department, I would not have the opportunity to work and study full time. Despite the fact that most entry level healthcare management positions pay less, it is still better than what other companies pay at their entry level
