Educational leaders should always “look not only to their own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4 NIV). Integrity is not accidental, it is intentional, educational leaders must make a conscious decision to always do what is right, no matter the circumstance. It is important for leaders to be competent in their leadership. “Being competent does not mean that a leader knows how to do everything, but rather that he knows what to do and how to do it” (Leadership Now, 2007, par. 2). Subordinates should be able to observe the competence of an educational leader from their actions.
