1. Choose three types of reading instruction from Table 11.1 in the text and demonstrate how dual language learners are included in the instruction; use both bilingual and monolingual illustrated books chosen from those listed at the end of the chapters of the text; provide details on integrating these books into the classroom curriculum. In some classes it is possible to learn dual languages. There are several books that have a bilingual language. Teachers can influence children in dual language learning. Reading instruction includes read aloud, interactive read aloud, independent reading, and supported reading. While there is more reading instruction, here are some that can be used to help with a teacher's curriculum. It is important that children interact during the story. Interactive reading aloud helps support children's literature. During interactive reading, teachers should ask children questions about what they read. For example, there is a book called "Hello Ocean". This book is a bilingual book that can be used in a children's classroom. This book teaches children how to read in English and Spanish. If a child speaks only English he can learn it in Spanish: and children who speak only Spanish can learn to read the book in English. Interactive learning may involve the teacher reading a sentence first and the students reading afterwards. This is how interactive reading aloud works. Another reading instruction is shared reading. Shared reading means allowing children to read in groups. Miss Mary Mack is a multicultural book with a single language. The book allows children to participate by clapping. Children can also sing along with the book. This book can be integrated into a curriculum because it allows children to develop their language skills. The te...... in the center of the card ......d with a k. Billy was also able to determine which syllables make up the name. Once children have gone over the words over and over, they are sometimes able to recognize them. This is where word recognition comes into play. Word recognition means “being able to identify and know frequently used site words” (Beaty & Pratt, 2011, p271). Teachers can prepare children for word recognition by providing them with a list of words from the site to practice throughout the year. “Sight words are words that appear frequently in most texts read by children, but cannot be easily pronounced” (education.com). The picture book can be used to help children learn to make meaning. Making meaning means that children are able to recognize information in picture books. Children can use picture books to help them with reading. This is important because it helps children learn what the meaning of a book is.
