Hard working Americans everywhere are losing their jobs and I say it's time for the land of opportunity to regain its credit. Job losses in America have affected the economy in an extreme way due to the percentage of jobs lost, the bills and legislation passed to resolve the dilemma, the conflict with hourly cuts for many Americans, and the difficulty finding a new career. According to the Bureau of Labor, the unemployment rate was 9.7% last month. This number is increasing especially in the construction industry because many Americans work for construction companies and when plans go wrong and projects are not built and/or finished they begin to lose jobs (“Employment”). They also say the number of unemployed reached about 14.9 million last month and those unemployed who were out of work for 27 weeks or more were 6.1 million. The number of people working part-time also increased from 8.3 to 8.8 million because many workers have had their working hours cut and still need to earn a decent amount of money (“Employment”). create new laws and bills that will help get American workers back on track. The Obama administration recently created a jobs bill or stimulus package that would ultimately help 1.6 million Americans get back or keep their current jobs.
