Literary Analysis EssayParadise LostJohn Milton's Paradise Lost is a configuration of biblical interpretations in Genesis written in the 17th century. In many ways this story is like the story of Adam and Eve in the Bible; although some aspects are significantly different. Some might try to argue that this poem is about Satan wanting revenge on God; however it shows a beautiful explanation of the love Satan has for God and his creations. The site of Milton's epic poem includes Heaven, Hell, primordial Chaos, and earth. We first get a glimpse of Satan being an angel fallen from Heaven. Regretfully he is banished from Heaven and sent to Hell. “The primary cause of his fall, the Serpent, or rather Satan in the Serpent; who, rebelling against God and attracting to his side many legions of angels, was by order of God cast out of Heaven with all his crew into the great abyss” (Greenblatt, et al. 725).
