Topic > The Clash Between Secular Thought and Religion - 1662

There has been a clash between secular thought and religion since the formation of societies in the classical age. Both had the same effect on the culture of each empire by influencing people to change their beliefs about the world. Major religions have created interactions that have influenced some of their ideas of what they have become now. The major religions during the Classical Age are Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Jainism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism. These religions also have similarities and differences between each other where they were involved in what they became. The main empires affected are Persia, India, China, Greece and Rome. The culture of these empires was influenced by religion to the extent that it changed their way of life. Although secular thought has had a huge impact on the world, world religion has influenced history since the reemergence of empires, exchanging the culture of their ideas during the classical age. Major religions have similarities with each other even though they have taught people different concepts and ideas. direct people to different points of view of ideas. One similarity that each religion has in common is that they have one or more Supreme Beings that they worship and look to when in need. But not all religions worship one Supreme Being, some actually worship many. Monotheistic religions are Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism. Although these religions worship only one Supreme Being, they do not worship the same one. Christianity worships God, who is the creator of heaven and earth. He is also known to possess ultimate knowledge and power that no one else has. God has allowed people to live their lifestyle, but to go to heaven they must have faith in the one... middle of paper... that has shaped our current societies. These were not the only empires that underwent drastic change. The Americas have also experienced a similar change, but due to the way education is taught from a Western point of view, the Americas are not as well known as the Western side. Overall, both secular thought and religion have impacted our society to the point that it has become more complex than before. There are many other religions and branches of major religions where it can be difficult to explain. There are still questions that secular thought and religion have not yet answered. People will make their own choices about what they want to believe and stick to that. It can be difficult to figure out what the right answer is, but in these empires people were able to make a living from what they had believed to be true their entire lives..
