Slavery and Human Trafficking Imagine being kidnapped and locked in a stranger's basement for months, even years, with no way to escape. Imagine being forced to do hard labor day after day without any pay. These types of inhumane acts happen all over the world today. Every day many men, women and children are victims of slavery and human trafficking. Slavery and human trafficking are a global problem that affects many lives. He earns approximately $32 billion per year (Kiener 1). Approximately 27 million people worldwide are held in some form of slavery (Masci 1). Slavery and human trafficking are a huge problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Human trafficking and human trafficking are the trafficking of human beings, mainly for purposes such as sexual slavery, forced labor or forced marriage. Slavery ended after President Lincoln abolished it after the Civil War, although it still exists today. Human trafficking and slavery occur all over the world. Most are relatives or people they already know, such as uncles, parents or workmates. Criminals can also be unknown people. Today there are organizations that help heal those who are victims of slavery and human trafficking and also organizations that work to end it. An organization that exists today is not for sale. They work to provide safety and stability services to survivors, while addressing the root causes of exploitation. They also offer job opportunities to those with economic difficulties.
