The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, might have many good reviews, however Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is a better book to read in grade 9 English because it has a development deeper character development, more powerful themes, and a cover design that reflects the plot. I recommend Mary Shelley's Frankenstein as an eighth grade English novel next year. The curious incident of the dog in the night gave us great insight into the mind of someone with Asperger's, the way Christopher notices strange things in people like page 13 “The sergeant behind the desk had very hairy hands and had eaten so much the nails that had bled." Although Christopher explained something in great detail, the information he gave us was irrelevant. The same thing happened with the stories about him, we were presented with an overabundance of information, but very little contributed to our understanding of the character.
