Topic > Essay on Socioeconomic Influences on Health - 717
People who live outside the city may not have such easy access to a doctor or other health services. This means they have to take the bus or car, which can cause difficulties especially for older people who are not flexible in their mobility, due to age, illness or other social factors. Another possible reason can be the language barrier, the individual needs an interpreter when going to a doctor. Cultural or similar factors, religion, can also be a significant reason why, for example, especially female patients refuse to consult a male doctor. A key factor may also be that the individual has had a bad experience with healthcare services in the past and no longer trusts them
