Have you ever wondered why you keep staring at that phone every 5 seconds? Some people never leave their phone behind and carry it with them wherever they go. Cell phone addiction has afflicted millions of people, aged between 11 and 57 (Gorily 1). Mass addiction to mobile phones has affected our behavior, our economy and even the environment. Younger generations are losing communication skills due to cell phone addiction. I personally don't own a cell phone, but from my personal experience playing video games has made me lose my social skills. I became more attached to technology and wanted less interaction with people. The most common factor in the lack of social skills would be due to texting (Gormly 3). With a lack of communication, people become less and less able to express basic emotions and needs. The ability to communicate behind a screen instead of face to face gives them confidence in their social skills but at the same time prevents them from experiencing real communication. “Cellphones have also created less unity with families and the people around them. While waiting for food at a restaurant, a person will look at their work emails and, in turn, make the other person feel less important. Another inconvenient and rude situation is when a person invites a friend and all the time he is waiting for a message or is texting another friend. The next generation (or so) will never be able to connect with another person, confront someone, or talk to someone face to face. People's skills will decline rapidly, because when a person writes they feel safe. Many natural resources are used to produce cell phones (Huisman 23). Many people think that cell phones harm our environment just because they are difficult to dispose of, wrongly, the process of making the cell phone is much worse when the cell phone is created. cell phone, natural resources are burned to create energy, the most essential of which is fossil fuel. When fossil fuel is burned it releases dangerous nitrogen oxide which affects humans, animals and our planet (Huisman 45) , are likely to increase bronchitis and worsening asthma due to inflammation of the lining of the lungs. But when released into the atmosphere, nitrogen oxides can do numerous things, such as cause global warming and even create acid rain. (Huisman). 46).
