Computer technology has come a long way in the last few decades. In some cases the way information is transmitted and received is as fast as the blink of an eye. The computer and the Internet are now the new social gathering place for the world. This new change in the world has affected everyone, including children born in this new era. From a social point of view it has influenced the way an entire generation communicates with each other. Educationally, it has made it somewhat easier for teachers and other school district staff to organize things like grades, attendance and disciplinary notices. On a professional level, computers and the Internet have significantly affected the workplace, in some places there are now no paper documents, except checks. Being one of the children born in this new age of information technology, I can say that this new age of computers and the Internet has helped me drastically and will continue to do so in my near future. Being a child of the 90s, I can say that socially computers and the Internet have influenced me in the past and will continue to influence me in many ways. I can't imagine life without a computer, it seems possible. Since I started school in '97 there has always been at least one computer in my classroom. I honestly remember being on the internet constantly since the fourth grade. As we grew older, the Internet became more accessible and more common. When I was in middle school, MySpace changed the way my generation viewed social life. The new place to be was on the Internet on MySpace. Everyone was there, from your favorite singers to your favorite actor, in some cases even parents. By the time I got to high school, Facebook had taken the world by storm. Everyone I knew had a Facebook. ......middle sheet ......the tools to use in the future to attempt to embark on a professional career in the automotive sector. I will write my resume on a computer and send it via the Internet along with my cover letter. In conclusion, I don't see myself pursuing a professional career without using computers and the Internet. It is clear that this new world we live in would be nothing without the Internet, and the Internet would be nothing without the computer. I can honestly say that I am extremely proud to have been born into this new information age. Most (not all) older adults truly believe that we are going through the same things as them. This has to be one of the biggest lies ever told. No two generations have the same problems. That's why I say you'll have a harder time trying to figure out what the Internet and computers will look like in your future.
