The concept of patient-centered care supports the active involvement of patients and their families in the decision-making process relating to care services. The IOM (Institute of Medicine) defines patient-centered care as: “Providing care that is respectful and responsive to the preferences, needs and values of the individual patient, and ensuring that patient values guide all clinical decisions” . of the main concepts to achieve an overall goal of health protection, attributing a safer medical system, while involving patient interaction and involvement in the provision and design of healthcare. Patient-centered care involves the integrated concept of educating consumers about their health conditions, guiding them to unbiased information about the benefits and risks of their health outcomes. The patient-centered approach focuses mainly on patients and their main attributions and interactions with healthcare professionals and their main experiences in main clinical contexts such as health centers and hospitals. This approach addresses quality issues and holistic aspects of healthcare to address broader healthcare challenges. A people-centered approach is distinct as patients need to be informed and empowered, to promote and protect their personal health. The people-centered approach implies a balanced consideration of the values, needs, health and well-being expectations of all components that are linked to the healthcare system. It aims to promote health promotion, to reach the general public to take care of their health, before becoming patients. Both patient and person-centered care share several core values and guiding principles that are very similar to each other. According to the World Health Organization the fundamental values and principles are outlined as follows:-• Having and giving respect to both the human rights and dignity of both the patients who use the service and the health workers who distribute and deliver the health services service of care. The central role in the healthcare process will help in developing economic growth towards the healthcare sector. The patient-centered approach will put an end to all forms of discrimination, as the patient is seen as a whole human being, regardless of race, gender, which may be different from other patients. All patients are included, in the inclusion process, in transparency and in accountability.
