When you hear the names “Romeo and Juliet,” the first person that comes to mind might be Shakespeare. This represents the mark that a person defined as "one of the greatest writers of the English language" can leave on the world of literature. Shakespeare's trademarks were the comic and tragic plays that left and continue to leave lasting impressions on the people who exposed them. William Shakespeare, 16th century playwright, is made up of many layers, like his works. Even after his death, his works have had a profound influence on the development of modern literature and the performing arts today. According to the website William Shakespeare Biography, it all began in Stratford-upon-Avon, England on April 26, 1564, which is said to be the time and place where William Shakespeare was baptized. Although he was baptized on 26 April, his assigned birth date was 23 April 1564. His father, John Shakespeare, was a leather merchant and his mother Mary Arden, was a local land heiress. He had two older sisters named Joan and Judith. William was Mary and John's third son and also had three younger brothers: Gilbert, Richard and Edmund. Referring to William Shakespeare's biography, "Few records exist of William's childhood and virtually none concerning his education." As mentioned on the website, there are not many documents about Shakespeare's childhood or education, but there is some speculation that he attended The King's New school. This school taught reading, writing, and classics, which would make William more than qualified to attend this school judging by his plays and sonnets.
