By the time Creon tried to fix everything it was too late. Haemon arrived at Antigone and found her dead in front of Creon and killed himself in front of his father. The news of Haemon had reached Eurydice, Haemon's mother, and she killed herself. Creon's sin was his pride. He wouldn't have done the right thing and wouldn't have given Polyneices the right burial and he would have left Antigone alone to die. He infuriated the gods and made his family suffer. Creon was no longer king and left the city of Thebes defenseless. Creon's punishment was that he would have to live the rest of his life knowing what he had done to his
