What's your favorite book? I couldn't tell you my all-time favorite book because I don't have just one, but one of my favorites is The Book Thief. Has your favorite book become a movie? The Book Thief was recently made into a movie. The movie was good enough, but it could have been better. Most books are better than their movie counterparts. Some films stay true to the plot of the book, while others take the story off on a tangent. The character of Grendel in the remake of the film Beowulf and Grendel has similarities and differences with the original character Grendel in the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf. Grendel in the movie and Grendel in the poem are similar in many ways. Grendel, both in the film and in the poem, terrorized the people of Herot. "[He] grabbed thirty men, crushed them/unknowingly in their beds, and ran out with their bodies,/blood dripping behind him." (Beowulf 37-39) Grendel enjoys and even delights in these acts of terror.
