(1)Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your leadership style. My leadership style is problem solving; this leadership style gives me the opportunity to utilize the knowledge and experience of my followers. I believe I belong more to this leadership style because I tend to accept input from group members when making decisions and solving problems. I do this because I feel that everyone in the group has something tangible to contribute to the group and, at times, may have access to key information that can help me in my decision making. I take the information and put it together to use to make a decision, because I know I will have the final say as the leader of the group. I believe that the group is formed for a reason, so no one should think that their contribution doesn't count, so I accompany everyone but I reserve the last word. I like to consult with all team members before making a decision; I encourage and appreciate my team's efforts. Some of the strengths of this leadership style are that it increases job satisfaction by engaging team members and also helps develop people's skills. With this leadership style, team members feel in control of their own destiny, so they are motivated to work hard by more than just monetary reward. “The approach may be best suited when teamwork is essential and when quality is more important than speed to market or productivity.” (Leadership Styles) The weakness of this leadership style is that there is often no clear direction with several people having different points of view, it can be an extremely ineffective leadership style, when time is limited and the problem must be resolved immediately. This leadership... at the center of the card... competence and team members for effective teamwork. Once we understood the impact of different leadership styles on our team, we utilized the strengths of each style and tailored our approach to the needs of each team member. This allowed them to use their leadership style to contribute more to our team.Works CitedLeadership Styles. (n.d.).
