Violence in video games has been a controversial topic for many years. Even the simplest, most classic video games have brought this topic up, dating back to the 1980s, games like Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong. But especially in modern video games, such as the Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto series. Many investigations attempt to analyze the idea that video games make people more prone to violence and even point to violence-related events, some of that research information may be incorrect. Within these investigations there will be evidence and proof for both sides and it will be analyzed whether or not they may be valid, and it will consider the people behind the statistics and their claims. Most people living in somewhat modern countries are aware of allegations of video game violence, blaming them for violent acts committed by today's youth. Typically these acts emerge when referring to a school shooting, gang-related crimes and other acts of domestic violence, even terrorist acts committed by youth. It is all too easy to blame something like the media and video games on the violent acts and past behavior of the accused, but more importantly on how they relate to video games in particular. Throughout history, people have feared what they didn't know or understand, expecting the worst from the situation. The problem is that non-users simply don't understand the topic at hand. The same can be said for video games. For example, many senior citizens cannot even understand why anyone would play video games, mostly aimed at violent ones. On the other hand, many seniors also find entertainment in video games and even use them for… half of paper… will always be a debated topic due to the many variables it presents.
