Although there have been many years of research and measurements planned to control the malaria epidemic, achieving a malaria-free world remains an ongoing battle. The spread of this disease continues to expand to different origins around the world. “It is estimated that two billion people (more than 40% of the world's population) live in malaria risk areas (MFI).” “The global annual incidence ranges from three to five hundred million clinical cases, with a death toll of between two and three million (Okenu).” “Malaria accounts for 10% of Africa's disease burden, causing the greatest suffering and impoverishment among the poor, of whom pregnant women and children under five years of age are the most vulnerable (Okenu).” This significant malaria epidemic requires a plan to manage disease control and implement it immediately. (UNDP) and the World Bank's Roll Back Malaria (RBM) initiative, a global partnership established in 1998 to catalyze support for malaria control and elimination and to bring partners together around a common action plan to combat the disease (Malaria). .” “UNICEF aims to help ensure that by 2015: malaria morbidity and mortality are reduced by 75% compared to 2005, not only nationally but especially among the poorest groups in all affected countries; the malaria-related Millennium Development Goals are being achieved, not only at the national level but also among the poorest groups, in all affected countries; and universal and equitable coverage with effective interventions (Malaria).” ...... half of the paper ...... and number of infected people; the use of ineffective antimalarial drugs; and inadequacy of resources, infrastructure and control programs.
