For example, one of my best friends is Roman Catholic. He attends mass every weekend and is a servant in his church. In the past he invited me to go with him to some church events, which I gladly accepted. During one event, I listened to the priest educate younger children about Christ and the Ten Commandments. On several occasions, members of the church and the priest himself have shown curiosity about Islam. I gently tell them about the various similarities that Islam and Catholicism share and answer all their questions. Unfortunately, many people see Islam as a violent religion because of all the mass media about terrorism, but after I informed them about my religion, they have a different perspective on the followers of Islam. It seems to amaze them how unique Islam truly is. This leaves a warm feeling in my heart that people are so interested in my culture and religion.
