If people set the übermensch as the ultimate goal for themselves, they would obviously compete with each other to obtain that goal, whereby people would most likely begin to model themselves after those people that seem closer to that goal. Does this sound familiar? Even others who do not share the aspiration to usher in the übermensch are seen as strange and “other.” Various studies and world events since Nietzsche's time demonstrate what happens whenever people share the same competitive goal or task: the Stanford experiment and the rise of the Nazi party in Germany are some of the most disturbing
