The struggle of immigrants in America The United States has a long history of discrimination. At the end of the 17th century, when America declared itself a free country, only the white nobility had the privilege of “freedom” and African Americans continued their life as slaves for many decades. As the town grew, it became a dreamland, a refuge for immigrants who fled their homeland in search of freedom and happiness. However, the gene of discrimination remained deeply imprinted in the minds of the early founding fathers; from here their descendants also acquired hatred towards immigrations that have a different appearance. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, many immigrants such as Jews, Chinese, and Japanese came to America with hopes of a better life and were exploited and treated brutally in many ways. Although their contributions to Americans were ineligible, their lives were cruel not only because they were treated poorly by the government but also because of competition with white workers for low-paying jobs. Many immigrants came to America with many different reasons and share the same feelings. The Jewish people were expelled from their homeland due to the futile and enduring hatred between religions. The Chinese people fled the mainland due to the Lifting Revolutions and the Opium War with the English. Finally, the Japanese came to America because of the Meijin Revolution which put a strain on the lives of many Japanese in their homes. They were all immigrants to America eager to seek freedom or better living conditions. The large community of diverse immigrants coming to America also brought benefits to the country's economy because many immigrants were very skilled and their labor costs were... half the paper... many means to finish the job railroad, but all the credit goes to white men. The Chinese were then transferred to work at the laundry business where they had to spend all their days in a lonely room washing the white men's clothes. Although immigrants have been treated unfairly in America, they continue to struggle as a minority group like African Americans and women's communities to try to rebuild America in a way that offers their descendants better opportunities. Nowadays, America has become diverse; many professions belonged to different people of different races. Although discrimination still occurs occasionally in America, now this is not a problem of a small group, but many people are against it. Thanks to the immigrants who came to America long ago, their struggle and battle for a better life has paid off for their descendants.
