Title Life with Metaphors Life has metaphors that can be found in our actions, thoughts and circumstances. Two metaphors that we can find in our lives when we experience situations can be compared to “turning the page” which has positive effects, and “putting your foot down” which has negative and positive effects from the choices people make. Our beliefs help us live every day to manage decisions, goals and responsibilities during any period of our lives. Our purpose in life is to use the metaphors of "turning over a new leaf" and "putting our foot down" to be better people in every circumstance. The phrase “to turn over a new leaf” means to make a radical change for the better in life. a person's life and is significant because each word in this metaphor has a deeper meaning. The “turning over a new leaf” metaphor resembles changing position in a circumstance a person finds himself in, such as having a job he doesn't like and therefore running the risk of leaving the job. So the external action he or she takes is to apply for a job that the person believes and perceives as the right career choice for him or her. A leaf has two sides, and one side is always visible to a person. While the other side may be hidden from our view or the other side of the leaf may be partially seen. Leaves go through phases like people do in their lives and changes appear all the time. “Turning a new leaf” has more to do with positive qualities than negative qualities because a leaf turning over from a person's previous circumstance illustrates growth and potential. The internal action of “moving on” occurs if a person believes and perceives who they are, and sees something that needs to change. For example, a man is dealing with stress... center of the card... metaphors found in our daily lives. They are inevitable because we are always provided with opportunities to start a new chapter in our life or make decisions to stay in the same place in our life. Unfortunately, the downsides of “putting your foot down” can lead to negative outcomes due to a person's resistance to better change. The positive sides of both metaphors are used for better change in any circumstance of a person's life, as he believes that this will help in managing decisions, goals and responsibilities during any period of a person's life.
