One of the stresses of being in the services is your family, especially your spouse. They always fear what will become of their marriage more than anything, usually before their husbands or wives take sides. Some spouses cope with the situation by showing enthusiasm and support for their husbands or wives, or by distancing themselves from their loved one by arguing, not communicating, or talking about their independence. Once husbands or wives are deployed, however, new problems arise. Sometimes this leads to the spouse dealing with using another person, developing feelings, and divorcing while the spouse is still engaged. Other times it leads to problems with depression and turning to family for help and support. Spouses tend to ask a lot of questions about how they can live their lives while still staying connected to their loved ones, mainly because they need the feeling that their husband or wife is still there and has a say in their life. In all honesty, they feel a sense of longing and need for their spouse to come home. Many women with children who have struggled to play both the roles of mom and dad said their children have or may rebel in their father's absence, causing them additional difficulties as soldiers' wives. Sometimes wives try to involve their husbands in the decision-making process to prevent children from rebelling and knowing that the father is fulfilling his role as a parent. What becomes more common is when the wife tries to become a single parent and ends up establishing new rules or routines for the child or children. Some wives decide to get a job to get out of the house, sooner or later return to their hometown, while other wives intend to focus more and invest more in their marriages and maintain a... middle of paper.... .. I look forward to participating in it in the near future. Operation PAL is more commonly known as Operation Prayers and Letters. It's when people write heartfelt letters to soldiers that can contain anything from questions they might have about the military to simply praising soldiers for what they do and saying thank you along with how they appreciate them. This will also be one of my plans that I will incorporate into my project next year. Support for Purple Heart Hero is when people donate to those who have been injured in war. They take their money and send it to people who were formally in the military and were injured in the war. Operation Freedom Ballot honors fallen soldiers by preserving Iraq's historic first vote. It provides the families of soldiers killed in Iraq with an official ballot created in the nation's history for the first democratic elections.
