Members of this society are portrayed as attempting to deal with anxiety by minimizing uncertainty. People living in cultures with high uncertainty avoidance tend to be more emotional as they try to minimize the occurrence of unknown and unusual circumstances by implementing rules and planning. However, in cultures low in uncertainty avoidance, individuals are accepting and comfortable in unstructured situations. They are more pragmatic and tolerant of change. In a high uncertainty avoidance society, employees are limited by rules and regulations and a structured work environment. However, with a low degree of uncertainty avoidance, employees accept uncertainty and adapt more quickly to sudden changes. They will be better able to make wise decisions and improve efficiency
