It felt like she was drowning. All 20 boats left the Titanic, but many people remained on the ship as salt water splashed over their bodies and the prayers of all the desperate became louder and as the ship was slowly tilted vertically. There were blackouts and this made the atmosphere worse. They were in a lose-lose situation because if they jumped they would surely freeze and if they stayed in the boat they would drown and die. I don't know why, but I felt guilty about what was happening in front of me because I felt I could have done more to help them, to help more people survive. The bridge creaked to pieces and the center of the bridge caught fire and the bodies burned. People on the lifeboats watched in amazement from afar, not knowing whether their loved ones had just caught fire or whether they were safe. The lower part of the bridge disappeared into the water. People attempted to run to the top of the bridge but failed in their path and slipped on large objects. There was a priest who prayed for the people but he and many others ended up directly into funnels and other objects. It was disheartening and incredible to see.
