It felt like she was drowning. All 20 boats left the Titanic, but many people remained on the ship as salt water splashed over their bodies and the prayers of all the desperate became louder and as the ship was slowly tilted vertically. There were blackouts and this made the atmosphere worse. They were in a lose-lose situation because if they jumped they would surely freeze and if they stayed in the boat they would drown and die.
