Bullying is something that is present in all stages of life. Whether it's pulling someone's hair, hitting them, cyberbullying, slandering, workplace harassment, or domestic abuse, it's bullying. Bullying occurs in schools, workplaces, homes, playgrounds, the military and care homes. The documentary Bully sheds light on the bullying that occurs in schools across America. Bully takes us into the lives of two families who have lost their son to suicide caused by bullying and profiles three kids who are still struggling. There are many factors that contribute to the creation of bullies, but the underlying cause of all of these factors is the desire for uniformity. In the opening scene of the film, there are scenes from Tyler Long's childhood. We see him smile, we hear his joyful laugh, we watch him joke. These scenes allow the audience to feel like they have seen Tyler grow up and know him personally.
