Topic > Employee Motivation Analysis - 1405

In the workplace, employees are the main role that will keep the organization together. Every task they perform is very essential because the company has to make sure that the objectives are implemented correctly and successfully. To achieve these goals, the company must have adequate management and employees who are motivated to work with them. Furthermore, it is crucial for the organization to ensure that employees enjoy working with them, have a positive attitude towards the organization's goals, are satisfied with the position they hold, and are committed to a better position. Therefore, it is very necessary for the organization to analyze the motivation of employees which can increase their productivity in an organization. According to Herzberg, Maunser and Snyderman (1959) good motivation can lead to positive work attitudes on the part of the employee because the organization satisfies the employee's need for self-realization. Another research conducted by Tziner and Tanami (2013) with a self-assessment questionnaire completed by a sample of 139 employees found that there is a positive correlation between work commitment and motivation. This foundation can be said as the greater the work commitment of employees, the greater their motivational potential or we can also say that the greater the motivation the more likely they will immerse themselves in work commitment. Motivation can be divided into two different categories, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation can be described as the motivation to perform a task to experience pleasure, joy, and satisfaction rather than the desire to obtain an external reward (Deci, Connell, & Ryan, 1989). While extrinsic motivation is described as a motivation to engage in an action… at the center of the paper… to produce motivating satisfaction in countries with better social welfare programs while not tending to work in countries with poor social welfare programs . In conclusion, intrinsic motivation is very important to increase employee work performance. This is because employees with high intrinsic motivation tend to have greater job enrichment and satisfaction. A company with more intrinsically motivated employees also tends to have low employee turnover, which can increase the company's profits. Intrinsic motivation can be developed by encouraging employees with the combination of praise and positive feedback, helping the employee to increase their self-efficacy, make the work environment joyful, fun and productive, provide challenging tasks and make the task meaningful, therefore it is worth the time and energy that have been donated by employees.
