When contemplating a topic as complex and complicated as the good life, there are countless things to consider. I honestly didn't even begin to think about what a good life would consist of until my senior year of high school. What do we mean by “The good life”? What is a good life made of? Do we humans possess the ability to achieve such a monumental goal? How can we achieve this, if at all? While everyone's definition of the Good Life may be different, I firmly believe that all people strive to achieve their own personal version of the Good Life. Whether they know it or not, all people try to live the best life possible, because who would intentionally want to live a bad life? However, it is possible for a person to base their good life on vices or various other unworthy matters and qualities. While this may be their interpretation of the Good Life, this vision is not right for everyone. I, for example, believe in the existence of a God out there, somewhere beyond our realm of existence. I believe that to get closer to my God, I must build my Good Life on the foundation of worthy virtues and morals. In my opinion, to live my ideal good life, I need to be responsible, motivated and sensitive. These concepts go beyond just me; it is also important to portray these qualities in my career, in my education, with my friends and with my family. For me life is like a ladder; there are many steps to reach the top and sometimes we miss one and fall again. How far we fall depends primarily on how successful we were at climbing. At the top of my ladder is my ideal Bella Vita, and the steps on the way up are tests to see if I truly possess the skills... middle of paper... to be able to do it all without assistance. Everything returns to balance; How much help should we get and how much should we do ourselves? A good life means being able to be responsible for your actions and efforts, which requires a certain amount of independence and self-reliance. However, there come times when we need to ask for help. I believe that relying too much on others creates a dependent and unstable individual, while being reluctant to ask for help when needed makes a person appear arrogant and stubborn. Antigone is a wonderful example of a woman who displays an extraordinary amount of self-esteem. dependence. After her mother killed herself and her father blinded himself, she was left to take care of her blind father. Although she was only a teenager at the time, she handled the situation in a remarkably mature manner.
