Monk Tapakhorn was very encouraging of people visiting the temple to practice meditation and chanting as he believes it is a form of worship that has many benefits. At the end of the visit we did a couple of meditation practices even though I wasn't able to concentrate like the Buddhist monks. The first meditation we practiced was sitting meditation followed by lying meditation. The experience was really cool and fun, as it's about how people fall asleep. By the end of my visit, I had learned a lot about Buddhism. To this day I still practice meditation which I find to be very beneficial to my overall health. It was a great way to learn more about Buddhism after discussing it in class. I had much more information about my surroundings and what exactly was going on. It was an incredible experience because it was the first time I met a Buddhist monk and was able to practice meditation practices with him. The atmosphere in the temple was very relaxed. I was very fascinated by the fact that you have to take off your shoes before entering the meditation room. Christians can keep their shoes on when they enter their
