The BBC has been in existence since 1922 and today there are over 25 national radio stations and hundreds of regional, local, community, student and hospital radio stations. (My Job Search, 2013) All of these stations will have many different job roles; one of them is called Broadcast Assistance. The role of broadcast assistance is very important in the radio broadcasting industry. Their job is to control everything that is put on the air, for example the music, packages, jingles and even the voice of the presenters. Within my essay I will examine what exactly broadcast assistance work consists of in stories, finding sources and other types of media to help show how and what needs to be done during broadcast within the radio industry. Radio broadcast or network-based assistance, BAs may sometimes be called assistance producers. (BBC Academy, 2014) is one of the main job roles when it comes to a radio station; this role is out of others such as presenter(s), producer and multiplatform. BA's work is focused on making and ensuring the show runs as smoothly as possible, providing assistance to program producers and presenters, as well as helping with research, planning and production. (Skillset, 2009) Most broadcasters will need to help the production team with technical support and will relate closely to the roles of producers. His work does not only take place on the day of the broadcast, the key is to prepare the show with general research for the program. They must have prepared music, packages, jingles etc. with release forms and copyright-free material so the production team can comply with the law. The BA must ensure that the material reproduced is free of copyright or has documents to demonstrate that it was suitable. ...... half of the paper ...... adio 3.
