How Toyota Successfully Implemented Change Process Principles to Improve ProductionExecutive SummaryChange is about survival, change management is about modification or transformation of organizations in order to maintain or improve their effectiveness. Change is especially necessary in organizations that aim to thrive in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment. Change is also known to be a key source of competitive advantage. This case study will focus on Toyota and how it has implemented several techniques to improve the manufacturing process and working environment for its employees. The main objective of this case study will describe how the “Just-in-Time” concept was used to reduce waste and improve the quality of its products. Next it will be detailed how Toyota has focused the planned change in four distinct areas which are product design, process design, employee involvement and production planning and control. So the conclusion will summarize the strategies used by Toyota and to what extent they were successful.
