Compare these Mongol laws with the current times in America or Europe. People are worried about their safety at night and not only lock their homes, but they get extensive security systems and other protections against people who harm them. If we, in the United States or Europe, are not barbarians and yet do not feel the same kind of security that the Mongolian people felt, how barbaric are the Mongolians? Along with these strict laws, the Mongols also displayed strict morals in respecting each other, not getting drunk often; but the Mongols were still very open socially and liked to drink considerately. These morals have existed since the time of Jesus and He used them in His teachings, so if Jesus preached these morals and he the most perfect man accepts them, how can the Mongols be seen as barbarians? Another thing the Mongols did that demonstrated their intelligence and civilization was their extensive post stations.
