"In society and in every story, there is a protagonist who will do anything to pursue his goal. In particular, myself and a character, Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, clearly show our willingness to go to extremes to eradicate and overcome challenges. Although both Victor Frankenstein and I display a multitude of forms of determination, it is evident that my ability to persist and solve problems The. order to get what I want outweighs and causes less destruction than Victor's inadequate ability to do so will show that Victor and I are both very different from each other and, through ambition and training. of our destiny, that.It is evident that there are many similarities that we share that determine great success or failure in our life "? Get an original essay. It's important. control their ambition, or desires and desires, lest they become deeply afflicted by them or take control of their life. To start, both Victor and I are extremely eager and determined to finish what we started and be successful. In the novel, Victor attends a university called Ingolstadt where his professors completely discredit his love of alchemy to Victor's dismay. Victor studies all through high school only to get to college where his teachers tell him that his knowledge and beliefs are all wrong. Despite the discouragement of his professors, Victor's ambition drives him to pursue his dreams and desires. Furthermore, Victor shows his ability to bounce back from setbacks rather than give up after the creature kills his family. Likewise, I experienced many challenges and obstacles throughout high school and with determination and willpower nothing stopped me from achieving success. I am an eager and determined student to get good grades in school. However, for example, I became very discouraged when I got bad grades in advanced functions despite working very hard and asking for extra help during lunch, but with determination I responded positively to the failure and adversity that prevailed. Additionally, procrastination causes both Victor and I to avoid taking care of our own problems. After Victor creates the creature and rejects its request for a mate, it is clear that his ambition leads to procrastination which prolongs his journey by avoiding his commitment and deadline with the creature. Victor runs away from his problems and travels with his friends to distract himself from his obligations to the creature and his entire existence when he says, “I have avoided explanations and kept a continual silence concerning the wretch I have created” (Shelley 177). This truly demonstrates Victor's lack of responsibility in creating this creature and not taking ownership of it as he chronically avoids his desires and deliberately seeks distractions. Likewise, my ambition takes control of me and I don't wait for opportunities. I search for them or create them for myself and this leads me to struggle with procrastination. Procrastination really affects how I feel the next day as all the stress piles on me at once. The end result is that I go to bed late and have to wake up early to do homework, homework, or tests that I should have done the night before. Eventually, both Frankenstein and I learn about perseverance. Moving in the right direction with a positive mindset and determination brings us closer to achieving our goals. After beingOvercome by ambition and having created a hideous creature, Victor loses many of his loved ones. He wants to die himself because he can't bear all the pain and believes it's easier to forget why he started his journey, however, he quickly learns that giving up won't solve anything. Victor declares his feelings towards life: “I stretched my weak limbs on the sandy plain and prayed for death. But revenge kept me alive; I dared not die and leave my opponent alive” (Shelley 192). Victor wishes for death but then remembers that he must avenge his lost ones and forbids the creature from prevailing. Therefore, Victor pursues the creature to avenge the murder of his family and friends. As a result, ambition gets the better of me sometimes when it gives me no clarity, just a whirlwind of negative thoughts, coupled with the perpetual fear of being average. However, I maintained persistence as learned and observed from my parents. My mother taught me to never give up on who I am and who I want to become, no matter how hard I struggle. Evidently, ambition can help you progress in life or make you lose your obsession with the fear of failure. All in all, it is very clear that both Victor and I share many of the same successes and problems due to ambition. Destiny can easily be controlled by making deliberate and conscious decisions rather than simply being passive spectators in one's life. First, individuals are often forced to live in a society that causes them to carelessly rush into things before thinking them through. In the novel Frankenstein, Victor is forced to go beyond normal biology and chemistry and builds a very destructive creature that he immediately regrets creating when he says, “I am the cause of all this, I killed her. William, Justine, Henry: they all died in my hands” (Shelley 176). This demonstrates Victor's irrational decision which consequently alters Victor's life for the worse as he cannot escape the beast hunting him. This also shows that he feels responsible for the deaths of his brother, William, close family friend, Justine, and best friend, Henry Clerval. Furthermore, Frankenstein wishes to eradicate the life he has so “thoughtlessly bestowed upon him” (Shelley 88). On the contrary, I always think about my course of action by comparing the pros and cons of my decision before acting on it. Solving problems in this way allows me to understand the consequences of my actions and make peace with those consequences. For example, during my earlier years of high school, I attended parties and asked myself numerous questions beforehand. Careful consideration helped me figure out whether I should attend the party or not. As a result, thinking things through helps give me the knowledge I need to make an informed decision, and doing this has ultimately gotten me on the right path in life. Furthermore, power is a valuable resource for some individuals. It provides them with a sense of security as they are in control and have authority over all people. For starters, Frankenstein abuses his knowledge and undoubtedly uses it for the wrong reasons. His power is not used to do good for society, his friends and family, as he simply uses it for his own benefit when he says, “A new species would bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures owe their existence to me” (Shelley 52). As shown in this quote, Victor creates a living being to achieve a unique result through knowledge. However, his bad decision leads him to act irrationally and abandon the creature who becomes very violent..
