The pursuit of knowledge has always been the central force behind my endeavors. I am a young and dynamic male born and raised in Pakistan. From an early age, my family instilled in me the value of service to other living beings. It came naturally because my family was also part of a prestigious healthcare fraternity. I firmly believe that our experiences shape us and ultimately sculpt our path. When I was in high school, I met my sister, who worked in her husband's dental office. Say no to plagiarism. Get an Original Essay The first time I saw a tooth being prepared for a crown, I was mesmerized by the skill required to create such a tiny level of artistry. My brother-in-law, like any good dentist, was kind enough to let me observe the procedures during the summer break. That's when I knew this was what I wanted to do. Not only would I enjoy working with my hands, but I would also have a significant impact on people's confidence. The decision to pursue graduate studies in dental science was a natural result of my decision to combine this research with my future career. Thanks to my strong determination, I was admitted to a dental school in Pakistan. I enjoyed my time in dental school as it taught me how to apply fundamental sciences to human life to make an impact. During my undergraduate studies, I worked on basic dentistry and built a foundation by performing clinical procedures in all departments. Additionally, I have been exposed to many different oral diseases and social situations; both common and exotic that I want to share with my colleagues in the program. While pursuing my degree, during the summer holidays, I volunteered at an NGO to provide the underprivileged with much-needed basic oral healthcare. This experience, along with the satisfaction of the service, inspired me to work harder for humanity. Some of my most rewarding experiences were working as a dentist for a year at a private clinic, where I independently handled general dentistry cases. Additionally, working in primary healthcare that involved extensive community work for people from diverse backgrounds helped me develop new perspectives and cultivate interpersonal skills. To strengthen my knowledge to become a specialist, working with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds influenced my decision to pursue the advanced degree program. This program will strengthen my skills, improve my dentistry and give me wider exposure by exchanging ideas about dental practices in other countries. Furthermore, my zeal for social work mirrors my passion for dentistry. During my dental career I have worked in many free medical/dental camps for underprivileged rural population. These experiences have allowed me to learn and grow as a dentist, as well as as a human being. My stay at a DDS for two years added knowledge, experience and expertise to my manual dexterity and self-confidence as a dentist. Determined to gain clinical experience, I went to the Family Dental Center to see rarely seen cases while preparing for the exam. After the board exam, I joined as a full-time observer then as a dental assistant after obtaining my dental radiology certification. I plan to continue my work as a dental assistant until I am admitted to dental school. In the future I want to specialize in.
