Topic > Hometown Quito: How It Has Changed

Over the past few years, on several trips I have made to New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and outside the country to Quito, the capital of Ecuador. The city where I observed a big difference and many changes was Quito, where I was born. I notice a mix of cultures and a large increase in the population. Something that helps the economy and makes possible the expansion of the city, the creation of a larger airport, new and modern facilities and a better transportation system. I saw a brand new tourist attraction called Teleferica which is attracting more tourists to the city. Overall, Quito has become a larger, more modern city in recent years. Say no to plagiarism. One of the things I saw differently when I landed was the airport. Since our currency is the dollar, now more and more people come from different parts of the world to live there, visit their families or just for vacation, and to provide better service the airport has been expanded and rebuilt. Now the airport takes up the side of two baseball fields, nearly double the size of the side it did years ago. Inside the airport building almost everything is new, more elegant, refined and technological. The walls are covered with colorful paintings and new crystal clear glass windows. Waiting areas are expanded and equipped with wireless access throughout. It has small shopping malls that only sell exclusive and expensive clothes, electronics and shoes, and it also has a new restaurant that offers expensive wines. In addition to all this, every airline now has its own space where someone can collect luggage without having to wait in long lines to look for it, electronic elevators and stairs, and automatic doors instead of manual ones. Outside to make the place safe they have placed a police office, a bus station and a rental car near the airport. Years ago there were no rental cars and we walked two or three people from the airport to catch a bus or get a taxi without any police protection. It used to be quite dangerous and very scary walking there, especially during the holidays when almost one in twenty were attacked, but now thanks to all these new renovations the crime has reduced and people are no longer afraid to come on this plane. the communities where my relatives live and where I stayed during my trip have also changed. In the past in these areas there were many trees and free land to play on. The streets were smaller on each side of just one street. We didn't have any signs to help us cross the road, we crossed the streets looking from all sides making sure there were any cars approaching us and if we didn't see any we crossed the road. Now, given that there are more houses and cars than before, there is also a lot of traffic and to reduce it they had to use these free lands and cut down many trees to reconstruct the stress. They transformed them into two or three longer streets on each side and to help people cross them in order and safety, they also put lights on the pedestrian crossings. They also stopped more buses in more populous communities. Today there is also no longer a new rapid transport called Eco via and Trolleybus. These two types of buses take you from the north to the south of the city in just a few minutes. The only difference between these two types of buses is that the trolleybus instead of using gasoline most of the time uses electricity. In the upper part of this type of transport there are two cables which are connected to the electrical lines and which allow the.
