Many people have different ways of learning and how they use multiple intelligences to help them be their best selves. One of my most suitable intelligences is intrapersonal intelligence. They control themselves and seek understanding. People with intrapersonal intelligence are generally independent (they learn more individually), but can still have the confidence to speak up and share while reflecting on their work. People with intrapersonal intelligence enjoy writing journals and understanding more about themselves. They are also good at helping others understand their feelings that they may not understand, in other words helping them through difficult times. There are many characteristics that apply to people with this specific intelligence. Some of the main characteristics of people in this division are that they are usually more oriented towards the “introverted” aspect. This means they keep their thoughts, feelings and moods to themselves instead of thinking about telling other people. They are also interested in self-employment and prefer to work independently. They choose to work independently because it helps them concentrate more. Albert Einstein once said that “if you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects.” This quote affects me very strongly. This quote basically means to me that, to be successful in life you need to focus on your goals, not on other people or objects. Also, in life people will take you nowhere, the only person who will help you succeed is you and only you. People with this intelligence are very independent and like to be self-aware. As much as I enjoy the company of others, there is nothing I love more than being alone and exploring things on my own. Whenever I am given the choice between working in a group or working alone, I always prefer working alone because being alone helps me concentrate and get my work done faster. However, that doesn't mean I have trouble sharing my opinions or letting others share theirs with me. The intelligence that defines me the most is intrapersonal intelligence, it shows who I am as a person and what type of personality I have. Kinesthetic Intelligence Kinesthetic intelligence is defined or shown by the preference to learn through physical movement such as activities, through games rather than “sitting sessions”. My second and favorite intelligence is kinesthetic intelligence. This intelligence is similar to visual intelligence but still has differences in these ways. People with this intelligence learn best by experiencing things and moving. They love sports and activities that require physical movement. There is another side to this intelligence, called the artistic side. People in this aspect love dancing or any other type of creative activity. These artistic types of people have fun, act and perform in front of an audience. Individuals with this intelligence like to use their hands to figure things out and are often very aware of their bodies. There are many features that applyto people with this type of intelligence. People with this intelligence tend to enjoy sports more than anything else. In other words, they like to physically move and get around things. They also do the best job when they get a practical example. Hands-on experience is the best strength from all other learning styles. I absolutely love sport and dance, my two favorite things actually. I am always active and look forward to learning new things that include using my body or doing something physical. Theater is something I really enjoy and my dad definitely loved acting too, so it runs in the family. I can do various kinds of drama genres and also games. In my old school, I performed in front of the whole school since I was part of a musical. I also danced a lot in front of the whole school because I was in a club called Glee. In the future, when I need to do a project or assignment about a book or movie, I will definitely watch the movie because I understand more when it is acted. I extremely love this intelligence and can definitely see where it comes from and how I have it. Musical/Rhythmic Intelligence Musical intelligence is defined or shown by having extensive knowledge of melodies, rhythms, and pitches that others do not truly hear. Knowledge and creative strategies are formed as they are good composers, listeners, etc. My last, but not least, intelligence is rhythmic/musical intelligence. People with this intelligence are able to hear and recognize patterns very easily. They are also sensitive to rhythm and sound, for example they can distinguish between the sound of a flute and that of a clarinet. People with this musical intelligence remember things easily when they turn them into sounds or rhymes. There are many characteristics that apply to people with musical intelligence. Some of these are that some people can memorize songs easily, recognize off-key singing and are also gifted in composing/playing instruments. People with this intelligence are more likely to become good singers or dancers in the future. They tend to whistle or tap their foot when they hear any kind of sound, and I know this because I do it myself. I can learn easily with songs if we need to learn something and there are songs for that (strategies and analogies used by previous teachers), this is the best thing for me personally. For example, when we had to learn verbs in French, I discovered that they were songs. The verbs we had to learn were the verbs ER, IR and RE, then the French teacher told us that there were songs that could help us memorize the verbs. For example for the verb ER, the song was old MacDonald had a farm, for the verb IR it was a rhyme and for the verb RE it was the song "make a circle". Therefore, I listened to them and got a very good rating. From that day I was sure that this intelligence was in my top 3; “If a composer could say what he wanted in words, he wouldn't bother to say it in words” – Gustav Mahler. This quote has very different meanings, depending on the person reading it. The way I see it, when you can't express something in words, music comes to the rescue. Music is something that helps me in everything. Furthermore, music helps me concentrate more when doing my work. At home I always listen to music because it helps me concentrate. I can also tell if people are singing off key and it's honestly one of my biggest pet peeves, similar to OCD. Please note: this is just an example. Get a custom paper from our expert writers now.
