Topic > The Importance of Access to Clean Water - 1883

Shortly after our visit, the EWB created a group to research the lives of Guatemalans and how to improve their quality of life. As a result, we came up with an idea: water. Water is essential for Guatemalans in rural areas. However, most natural waterways are used for garbage disposal and human waste, which causes water contamination. Therefore, in this proposal, the objective of the EWB is to install water purification systems in five Guatemalan cities, which are Quiché (northwestern region), San Marcos and Totonicapán (southwestern region), Alta Verapaz and Baja Verapaz (northern region). Overall, if our project is successful, we will help provide clean water, which will significantly reduce poverty, disease and ignorance of the people around us.
