Analysis and Comparison for HP and LenovoAccording to report 1, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Development Company is an American global information and technology company while Lenovo is a Chinese multinational information technology company. In this chapter, the strengths and weaknesses in management and other business practices of HP and Lenovo will be analyzed and compared.2.1 Compare the strengths in management practicesIn this section, the strengths in management practices of HP and Lenovo, such as leadership, motivation, human resource management, information technology, communication, culture and diversity, will be discussed and compared. Strengths are the positive areas or characteristic attributes that provide a fundamental market advantage. (a) HP The strengths in HP's management practices are listed below: (i) Offering good benefits for staff HP offers many good benefits to its staff, including bonuses, fringe benefits, professional insurance and especially the service contract. In these two reports we can find that they have similarities and differences in management practices, strengths and weaknesses. To analyze their success and improve their performance, organizational management and behavioral approaches are used. Report 1 and Report 2 give me the opportunity to analyze and examine managerial and organizational behaviors on the operation and performance of IT companies. HP is like the epitome of a country where people are the basic building blocks of a country. That is, HP is people-oriented, especially staff-oriented. In my opinion, HP and Lenovo will be more successful than now if they can overcome their current weaknesses.
