China Mobile is located in China while Verizon Communications and AT&T are located in the United States, regions with high populations. Overall income levels for residents in these countries are significantly high. As a result, buyers have immense purchasing power. China has a number of other major players such as China Telecommunications which poses a tough challenge to China Mobile. Similarly, Verizon Communications is located in the same region as AT&T (Rajasekar & Al Raee, 2013). Subsequently, buyers have the power to determine the telecom service provider to adopt. Major industrial players are aware of the bargaining power of buyers and do everything they can to lower prices and improve the quality of their products.
