China's one-child policy should be stopped due to its violation of women's reproductive rights and human rights and its negative effect on China's current and future economic growth. Since the establishment of the one-child policy there have been many who have accepted and even denied the conditions of the policy. From the testimonies learned, statistics on the well-being of the people involved, and research conducted, people have learned that this policy provides China with more harm than justice for society. Therefore, due to the harm it causes to society and the negative impact politics has on children, women and even men, government attempts to over-control citizens' lives should not be justified. One event that baffles those outside the society is how China met rapid population growth, initiating the one-child policy. Over 30 years ago, the Chinese government instituted the one-child policy. This policy was the result of the failures of former Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong, which led to a man-made famine that led to the deaths of over 30 million citizens. The Chinese government believed that the one-child policy. The negative effects the policy will have on China's current economic growth are not having enough children to care for the elderly, not having enough women to reproduce, increased trafficking of women and children, and finally, increased of violence.
