How We Acquire KnowledgeWhen I think of knowledge, the first thing that comes to mind is education. I believe that knowledge comes to people through their life experiences. In other words, life is a tool that leads me to acquire knowledge. Many people believe that older adults are wise because they have learned from good and bad experiences throughout their lives. Education requires work, dedication and faith to acquire knowledge. We have gained knowledge through the guidance of parents, role models, college/university teachers, and life experiences. When we were little, our parents had to guide us because we didn't have the ability to live on our own. Sometimes, for some people, their parents taught them or sent them to school to develop their knowledge. Parents helped their children with their homework. They encouraged them to continue their early education. Parents help their children gain confidence in their lives. A confident child is able to have a positive attitude at school. Also, it helps the child to be positive in his inclination. Many children have learning problems at school because their parents do not support them. Instead, they tell them they are worthless. Additionally, parents help build ways of learning at an early age. When we were little we didn't know how to study, how to read. Our parents have found the best way to learn basic education. As students, knowledge is very important to guide us in continuing our education. One way to gain knowledge is to have a role model in our life. In this society almost every child, adult and elderly person has had a hero in their life. It is very important to have someone to look up to because it helps to increase our interest in education and will eventually lead us to gain knowledge. Role models make students feel confident that they will be able to achieve their dreams. For example, I grew up in a Christian family. My role model since I was a child was Jesus. I wanted to be like him and follow all his teachings. I knew I could gain knowledge through his words. I know that most religions have a leader that most people follow. In schools, teachers can be role models. Many students want to be like their favorite teacher.
