Topic > Freedom in choosing university courses - 903

Freedom in choosing university courses has raised many opinions on whether or not to grant them to students. Over the years, students have been forced to take courses based on their grades at the high school level. Colleges base student admissions and the courses they will take based on specific established requirements. Furthermore, students who achieve excellent results in high schools, a good number of them, are forced by universities to study the courses they consider based on their performance. Students, when they have the freedom to choose the courses to study, will choose what is not a burden to them, but a challenge. Each person knows their knowledge, level of understanding and which course to study, after a self-assessment when the freedom to choose lessons is given. Additionally, the student considers subjects to study that will not overwhelm him. The result of being burdened by the course as a whole is that they will struggle physically and mentally they will not be relaxed. The struggle is mainly caused by long lectures that the student cannot handle and a lot of homework that consumes a lot of time intended for independent study. In a number of institutions, some subjects are considered compulsory when studying a course. Students are forced to take on subjects that do not interest them; furthermore they are not able to choose the subjects that interest them. Due to the obligation to study what is not of their interest, they may not take their studies seriously because they believe that the subjects are not really necessary and are just a waste of time. time. The moment the student is allowed to choose which subject to study, he will be anxious when it comes to… half of the task… of course, the strong urge to attend classes, the zeal to complete university and finally the ability to achieve excellent results in the workplace when getting a job. There should be no influence or obligation from other people or institutions on what to study in college because, it may not be of your interest, which may later cause you to stop your studies. Therefore, students should take on the role and stand firm on their ability to choose a course that suits their career and life, as it is what will define who they become in the future.
