LADY MACBETH'S DECEPTION William Shakespeare's play Macbeth begins with a noble warrior named Macbeth who is titled Thane of Glamis by his uncle, King Duncan. Macbeth is awarded Thane of Cawdor due to the change of sides of the original title holder who is hanged for treason. Macbeth, deceived by his wife, kills the king in a plot for power and they blame the guards by placing bloody daggers next to them. Macbeth begins to lose himself as the play progresses. He kills his best friend Banquo and Macduff's wife and children. Lady Macbeth kills herself as she goes mad from all the killing and that's when Macbeth completely loses himself. The witches tell Macbeth that he cannot be killed by any of the women born. Macduff and Malcolm, the heir to the throne who has fled from Scotland, think of a plan to kill Macbeth. Macbeth faces Macduff and Malcolm's army alone as he is labeled a tyrant and abandoned by everyone. He faces the army without fear as he cannot be killed by anyone born of woman, but fails to realize that Macduff was born by a caesarean section which led to his downfall and Macbeth being beheaded. Malcolm becomes the new king. Lady Macbeth's deception had a dramatic effect on the play leading to a dramatic change in many lives. The three main points that will be discussed are how Lady Macbeth is deceived; how Lady Macbeth deceives others and the results of Lady Macbeth deceiving others. Lady Macbeth was simple-minded and easily deceived. Lady Macbeth was easily deceived when she heard the news that Macbeth had been predicted to become king. This occurred shortly after Macbeth was awarded the title Thane of Cawdor for his courageous fighting and leadership. “and by its form… middle of paper… showed that Lady Macbeth's deception had a dramatic change in the play and led to the change of fate of many others, including the death of Banquo, the death of Lady Macbeth and the death of Macbeth himself. All of this could have been avoided if Macbeth had simply stood in line and not listened to the witches, which he would not have done if it were not for his deceitful wife and his naivety. Lady Macbeth's decision to murders is believed to have led to the unnecessary massacres that Macbeth ordered to secure his place as king. “No one born of woman will harm Macbeth”, another important factor was that Macbeth was told that no one born of woman would be able to kill him, this gave him the thought that he had tremendous power and invincibility that made him led to an easy and unexpected fall for him but clear to the audience that his end was coming.
