University education can be seen as a decisive factor determining an individual's success and productive role in society. These arise from better knowledge, skills and well-developed positive qualities that result in more job opportunities and higher wages. However, the value of a college education comes not only from the benefits it offers individuals. University education today is important for society itself. The significance of earning a college degree today is that it helps build a fairer, more just and educated society by empowering people, helping them form a strong civic position and unifying them through socialization, cohesion and communication. Earning a college degree plays an important role in empowermentA college degree not only helps one gain awareness of the policies that govern a state, nation, or country, but also provides individuals with the tools to bring about development and change for the benefit of human society. The most important of these tools is literacy in the complexities of democracy and the need to take into account all voices on the matter. A good example of this was given by Scott Adams in his article “How to Get a Real Education,” where he revealed how education gave him the power to formulate the constitution that effectively included the interests of all parties. He wrote: “At the end of the meeting I volunteered to take on the arduous task of creating a document that reflected all the varied and sometimes conflicting opinions that had been expressed.” (Adams). The author revealed how education helped him formulate a strong civic position that allowed him to develop a constitution that benefits all. Based on this example, college education can be seen as the catalyst for positive changes in society resulting from the actions of particular individuals. However, this is an incorrect assumption. While it is true that college education is not a universal phenomenon, it can be argued that the ideas and values provided by college education spread through society regardless. This can easily be seen in laws, books, television programs, music, art and many other social aspects that aim to create a progressive society where individuals know the importance of moral values in their private spheres and public. Likewise, security relies on a well-educated population that is aware of the rules, laws, regulations and the importance of maintaining peace. There is no doubt that it is the university that provides individuals with the insight and knowledge regarding all these issues. All of these aspects make a college education important for a just and just society, even if not everyone attends it
