I'm also drawn to topics that involve big numbers, namely economics. I learned about money at an early age by selling Girl Scout cookies to locals. As a teenager, I took it a step further by working at Wendy's, where I learned firsthand about manufacturing efficiency and frugality. Working in the fast food industry has taught me that something as simple as your order history can save you money (for example, instead of ordering a combo with a frozen drink and then getting an extra small soda, order a combo with a soda as a drink and an extra small drink. The drink has no surcharge in a combination, but costs several cents less than a drink as a single item). I also actively serve as treasurer for my district's International Thespian Society group, where I apply my financial business skills by budgeting and fundraising. The primary motivation behind my interest in economics as a major, however, is my dual credit economics course. My teacher interactively engages me in learning and provides real-world connections, which ensures I'm learning something applicable to life outside the world
