Topic > Essay on Nutrition in the School Cafeteria - 724

One of my many concerns as a Tarrant County College student is the lack of variety and nutrition in the school cafeteria. The choices we get here are Subway or junk from the vending machines. This issue really struck me when I went to my UTA orientation and discovered the many healthy choices, as well as the variety in their cafeteria. I believe TCC should have a much larger menu and healthier alternative. How can TCC as an educational facility fail its students in the march towards a better lifestyle? A good educational facility should not only educate but also lead its students towards a better and healthier tomorrow. To put an end to the problem, we propose a larger canteen with more varieties of healthy foods to choose from. It is necessary to introduce healthy varieties of foods in the canteen and library to promote good body posture among students. Without building a larger cafeteria and introducing a variety of healthy foods, the obesity rate will continue to rise at the school. The solution is ensuring that by building a larger cafeteria with healthy varieties of food it will attract more students to eat healthy food in the cafeteria. “A larger cafeteria with healthy food could be used immediately to do the following:”( Technical Communication Fundamentals, Pfeiffer and Adkins, page 165)• Healthy food in the cafeteria keeps the student fit even if they are not exercising, but eating healthy helps strengthen the immune system. • Providing healthier foods in the cafeteria not only allows students to eat healthily but also improves brain function. • Creates a more relaxing space for students and also staff while they eat. • It also eliminates the distraction of other students eating together
